Takt Time Calculator

The takt time is the available production time divided by the number of units that are required to be produced during that time. This calculator allows the user to input five values:

  1. Available Time (in minutes): This is the total amount of time available for production.

  2. Required Units: This is the number of units that need to be produced during the available time.

  3. Operator Time (in minutes): This is the time spent by the operator on each unit.

  4. Changeover Time (in minutes): This is the time required to change the production setup from one product to another.

  5. Idle Time (in minutes): This is the time when the production line is not in use.

The calculator then calculates the takt time by subtracting the operator time, changeover time, and idle time from the available time and dividing the result by the number of required units. The result of the calculation is displayed on the screen, along with some advice on how to improve the production flow. The advice is based on whether the takt time is less than the operator time, in which case the user is advised to increase the production rate or reduce the operator time, or if the takt time is greater than the operator time, in which case the user is advised to reduce idle time, changeover time, or improve the operator efficiency.
